Secure SSL certificate order form.

Before you continue, you must use your Web server software to generate a certificate signing request (CSR).  If you do not operate your own Web server, contact your hosting provider and request a CSR for your domain.

Once you have a CSR, follow these steps to order your secure server certificate:

1.Complete and submit the SSL enrollment application (below).

2. Confirm your Enrollment Form information, select an email address for the authorized administrator who will approve this SSL certificate request, and indicate acceptance of the SSL Subscriber Agreement.

3. Obtain authorization. The SSL enrollment system will send a message to an administrator for the domain name you specified. The administrator must respond to that message to authorize the certificate request.

That's it! Upon receipt of authorization, We will send your SSL  server certificate to you by email. In most cases, you'll receive your SSL certificate in less than 6 hours.

CSRs must:

  • Be generated with a minimum of a 1024 bit key (for better security in ssl)
  • Contain a fully qualified domain name or an intranet name
  • Not include IP Addresses
  • Not include Illegal Characters - ex: & , ' etc. If you are not sure, leave it out.
  • Leave the challenge password blank
  • Have the correct Country Code. ex: United States = US
  • Generate your own CSR, DO NOT use the example below. The CSR must be created on your own server.

Once you decide to subscribe for an SSL Server Certificate you will need to complete this agreement. Please read it carefully. Your Certificate Request can only be processed with your acceptance and understanding of this agreement .

I hereby represent that I am fully authorized by the owner of the domain contained in the CSR sent to Timberland Hosting to apply for an SSL Server Certificate for secure and authenticated electronic transactions. I understand that a digital certificate serves to identify the Subscriber for the purposes of electronic commerce and that the management of the private keys associated with such certificates is the responsibility of the subscriber's technical staff and/or contractors.

Timberland Hosting's public certification services are governed by a CPS as amended from time to time which is incorporated into this Agreement by reference. The Subscriber will use the SSL Server Certificate in accordance with Timberland Hosting's CPS and supporting documentation.

The Subscriber acknowledges that it is liable to pay Timberland Hosting's certification fees if applicable for this certificate as published at http://www.timberlandhosting.com/ssl.htm.

If the Subscriber's name and/or domain name registration change the subscriber will immediately inform Timberland Hosting who shall revoke the digital certificate. When the Digital Certificate expires or is revoked the company will permanently remove the certificate from the server on which it is installed and will not use it for any purpose thereafter. The person responsible for key management and security is fully authorized to install and utilize the certificate to represent this organization's electronic presence.
